Before setting out on your Komodo vacation, it is important that you understand where you are heading and the easiest ways to get there. Komodo is in the middle of the Indonesian archipelago, and is between Sumbawa and Flores islands. The fact that Komodo is a reserve for both a marine diversity and of course the Komodo dragon makes this a rapidly growing tourist destination. The snorkeling and diving in this National Park is almost unsurpassed, and it is completely understandable as to why one would want to go. Now that you know where you are going let us discuss the best ways for you to get there.

There is both the airport and ferry service to the areas around Komodo. The easiest passage you will find is the ferry service from Labuanbajo, which originates on the island of Flores. This ferry will provide passage to the island of Komodo two to three times per week. Komodo is a relatively remote destination, and you will not find any regular transport to or from the island outside of the Labuanbajo ferry. Labuanbajo also connects in Bima, which is a short drive from Sape. In Bima you will find an airport to and from the Indonesian islands.

There are many ways of getting to Komodo, but your safest and most opportune is through the Labuan Bajo. This is due to high volumes of traffic and inclement weather. You do not want to take a random shuttle service that may be terminated indefinitely due to weather. If you stay with your travel plans through Labuan Bajo you will eliminate this possible condition. How to get to Komodo is relatively simple, once you have reached Indonesia, you should choose to travel to Flores, to the village of Labuan Bajo, from here you are just a ferry ride from the island of Komodo. Once in Komodo, you will find some of the most breathtaking scenery, marine and wildlife that Indonesia has to offer. You will also find some of the best snorkeling destinations around the world once you have made the remote trip to the island of Komodo.

Keep in mind that your travel plans need to coincide with the times and days that the airport and ferry service are running. Komodo is a remote destination, and many services do not run daily. Many only offer service between one and three days per week. You need to verify your plans and times to the island accordingly. Once you have your destination set up and plans are made, you can sit back and relax in this beautiful tropical destination. While you take in the scenery and the beauty that is Indonesia. Here you will have the opportunity to witness the famous Komodo dragon, and the host of diverse marine life, along with the stunning coral reefs that surround the entire Komodo National Park. By following these guidelines, getting to Komodo are easy, saying goodbye may be a little bit harder.
