Ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2014, Three Million Tickets Sold out

World Cup fever has settled in Brazil, with nearly three million tickets sold for the 2014 tournament.
Huge global excitement reflected by the number of unprecedented demand for tickets, with more than 11 million received to date.
Until now, a total of 2,961,911 tickets have been sold, including more than 2.2 million direct to the general public via FIFA.com.
"For any fan, it is a dream to be able to experience the life of the FIFA World Cup in a country that only five-time world champion - never before have so many tickets we sell directly to the general public, and this is important to us.
"The opening match and the final even ten times oversubscribed.
"Long queues of people who show up at the ticketing centers early yesterday morning to buy tickets for the World Cup shows the high level of interest that the Brazilian and international fans to be in the 2014 FIFA World Cup," said FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke.
Overall, 60 percent of the tickets purchased by Brazil and 40 percent by fans from around the world.
After Brazil hosts (1363179), the United States led an international package with 196 838 tickets, followed by Argentina (61 021), Germany (58,778), British (57,917), Colombia (54,477), Australia (52 289), Chile (38 638), France ( 34 865) and Mexico (33 694).
There are a few tickets left only 27 of 64 matches: the opening match, semi-finals and finals are sold out.

FIFA bear all operational costs for staging the FIFA World Cup 2014 is about USD two billion, with half of this figure are directly invested in the Brazilian economy through local recruitment services.
This latter figure includes the entire budget of the local organizing committee, team travel and accommodation costs of TV production, operations ticketing, accommodation, IT solutions and management of the overall competition, the entire organization of the game, plus a referee and marketing operations.
