Home to the elusive Mola mola ocean sunfish and other captivating sea dwellers such as manta rays, the Nusa Penida district in Klungkung regency, Bali, consisting of Nusa Penida and smaller Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan islands, offers more than just an underwater paradise.

Established as a Marine Protected Area (MPA) in 2010, Nusa Penida's 20,057-hectare area is also a popular site for training purposes and field visits by representatives of international governments, donor bodies and various other organizations.

Smoke haze from forest fires in Indonesia Singapore and Malaysia reached the worst level in 16 years. Local authorities issued a health warning. Pollutant Standard Index (PSI) reached 155 on Monday night local time, well above the healthy limit of 100. It was the highest level since 1997. Local authorities warned residents to avoid outdoor physical activity. People who are prone diseases should also stay indoors. Smog is expected to last for the next few days.

pandawa beach 10 Pandawa Beach, Kutuh Village, BaliPandawa Beach is a “newly found” beach in Kutuh Village, southern part of Bali. It is easy to reach this area, just go to Siligita Nusa Dua and follow the road passing STP Bali until you find a big signage “Pandawa Beach”. Turns left and soon you’ll be amazed of the cliffs. Pandawa Beach reminds me of Dreamland (New Kuta) in its early years long time ago.

The Alila Villas Soori Bali has been awarded the best resort hotel in Asia-Pacific at the Asia Pacific Hotel Awards 2013-2014, in regard to its design, development and marketing.

The 19th Asia Pacific Hotel Awards, held in Kuala Lumpur late last month, was judged by a panel of 70 professionals from various backgrounds. Among them were Lord Bates and Sir David Michels, retired group CEO of Hilton Hotels, who jointly chaired the panel.

In its fifth year, an annual jazz festival dubbed, Jazz Gunung 2013, is scheduled to be held at the Java Banana Bromo hotel located just 4 kilometers away from the tip of Mt. Bromo, on June 21- 22.

As many as 12 local musicians ranging from top dogs to debutants will grace the stage, including: Balawan and Batuan Ethnic Fusion, Barry Likumahuwa Project as well as Yovie Widianto Fusion, Djaduk Ferianto, Rieka Roslan along with Kulkul Band, Sierra Soetedjo and Bandanaira Duo.
